Accommodation

Participants are free to choose their own accommodation, since the Workshop organization does not provide it.
However, in collaboration with the Collegio Carlo Alberto staff, we are able to suggest to the participants a couple of accommodation facilities in which you can benefit form an agreement we drafted with them, as long as there are still rooms available.

Collegio Universitario Renato Einaudi

The Collegio Einaudi is a merit-based University College founded in 1935. Each year, it hosts 774 university students of any level, from undergraduate to doctoral level, in five different residence halls around the city.

In particular, the Po hall is close to via Po, one of the most central streets of Turin, 5 min walk from the Mole Antonelliana and 10 min from Piazza Castello and Piazza San Carlo.

It is 15 min by bus from the Collegio Carlo Alberto, and 25 min walking.

For the PhD students the fee for an ensuit single room is € 25 per night, plus the tourist tax, amounting to € 1.8 per guest per night.

The breakfast is not included, but you have access to a kitchen as well as to all the other facilities provided to annual guests (look at this flyer for further information).

Tomato Backpackers Hotel

The Tomato Backpackers Hotel is located in San Salvario area, just three blocks from the Valentino Park, the historical green area along the Po river. It is located few minutes walk from the Porta Nuova train station, the bus stop to Caselle airport and the underground station.

The hotel is 20 min from the Collegio Carlo Alberto by bus or underground, and 35 min walking.

There are 17 rooms (singles, doubles and dorms), all with a private bathroom, common areas and a private backyard.

As a guest of the Collegio Carlo Alberto you can benefit a 10% discount on the price of the rooms.

Social Dinner

We will be happy if you would like to join us on Tuesday 19 evening for the social dinner,
that the Collegio Carlo Alberto is glad to offer to the participants.

The dinner will take place at the Aldente restaurant , in the Quadrilatero area, where the castrum (ancient roman encampment) of Augusta Taurinorum stood. The restaurant aims to go back to the roots of the piedmontese traditional kitchen, not only through the food it proposes, but also by the convivial and friendly atmosphere that breathes in its rooms.

The menu will let you have a taste of a wide variety of Piedmontese traditional meals and a selection of local wine.

A vegetarian menu will be provided. Other variations in the menu for personal needs can be provided. Food allergies and intollerances will be managed by the staff of the restaurant. We will ask you about these things in the registration form.

Turin city tour
and wine tasting

For those who would like to stay in Turin also Wednesday 20 night it will be possible to have a brief sight-seeing tour of the city (Piazza Castello and the Royal Palace, Piazza San Carlo and, maybe, the Mole Antonelliana).

We will also have a wine tasting (with some appetizers) around 6pm at Cru La Vineria (Via Sant'Agostino 18/D) at a price of about € 15 for whom would like to join. That activity is not part of the Workshop and so it is not covered by the fee.
