Elena Cefis
Elena Cefis is Full Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Bergamo. She is also affiliate professor at the Institute of Economics, Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies. She has been a visiting scholar at the School of Management, University of Bath. Previously she was appointed at Utrecht School of Economics, Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona and Bocconi University, Milan Italy. She received her Ph.D. from European University Institute, in Florence, in 2000. From the same institution, she also obtained a Ph.D. in History, in 1995. She is associate editor and founding member of Industrial and Corporate Change. Her research interests include Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Industrial Dynamics and Evolutionary Economics. She has published, among other journals, in Journal of Management Studies, Research Policy, Regional Studies, International Journal of Industrial Organisation and Industrial and Corporate Change.

Francesca Medda
Francesca Romana Medda is full-time Professor of Applied Economics and Finance at the University College London (UCL). She is the Director of UCL Institute of Finance and Technology. Since 2012 she has served as economic adviser to the UK Ministry of Environment and Agriculture (Defra) and in 2014 at the Ministry of Finance (HM Treasury). She is Vice-President of the Italian Parliamentary and Scientific Committee. She collaborates with the European Investment Bank, The World Bank, UNESCO, UN-Habitat, WILLIS Re, HALCROW, and UITP. She obtained her Ph.D. in Economics from Tinbergen Institute, in 2000. Her main areas of research are Digital Finance, Applied Finance, Sustainable Investments and Transport Economics. She has published in many leading international academic journals.
